It’s obvious to me that weight training is the secret to long lasting youth.
Yes, genetics and diet and stretching and meditation and stress levels all play a part… But when I look at the one factor that seems to be the unifying link among the people I know who are “defying” the laws of aging, it is consistent weight training.
It’s not ALL they do, but it is the one thing that sets them apart.
You don’t need to become a fitness freak, or dedicate your life to the gym. You also don’t need to become obsessed with being strong or any of the common stereotypes that come with weight training, but you do need to lift.
50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond, do your best to make some sort of weight training a priority.
Two to three times per week challenge your muscles by using a high amount of effort. <– That’s all it takes.
